In this article, acrylic acid is modified by using acrylic acid, and then epoxy acrylate (EA) is obtained. With the use of maleic anhydride, EA is futher modify. By introducing the carboxylic acid groups, modified epoxy acrylic resin (EB) is get. After that, hydrophilic group carboxylic acid anions is gained by neutralizing with triethylamine, adding some water to emulsify, finally the waterborne uv curing epoxy resin is obtained.Taking optimization of the catalyst and inhibitor used in the reaction, and the synthetic technological conditions of epoxy acrylate (EA) and modified epoxy acrylic resin (EB) are optimized by using the orthogonal experiment design and single factor for master test methods. In order to confirm that the synthesis product is the target product, the infrared spectrum is used for the characterization of the samples.In this hydrated study of hydration of epoxy resin, we’ve discussed the influence of the neutralizer, the degree of neutralization, the method of adding water, as well as the content of carboxylate and different bisphenol. A type epoxy resin on the resin’s water soluble and stability. The results showed that the epoxy acrylic resin made by100%-neutralization with triethylamine was prepared with great water solubility and water dispersion, and the water-soluble of the modified resin increases with the increasing of neutralization degree. With the increase of the content of maleic anhydride, the water solubility advanced gradually, the water-based resin’s viscosity decreases, and the average particle size of emulsion presents a trend of increasing with the decreasing at former. The value firstly reducing from120.4nm to41.08nm, and then increasing to71.37nm. When the molar ratio of EA:MS=1:1.4, the emulsion particle size reaches the minimum. Concerning about the method of adding water and neutralization at the same time, the water solubility and stability of emulsion will get better, and it can be stored stably in more than six months. Finally, we did some researches on the film-forming property of the water-based resin handled by photo-cure. The results showed that the light initiator Darocur1173has the best compatibility with water-based resin, and when the addition is the5%amount of resin, it’ll reach a fastest rate of photo-cure. Along with the increase of the content of maleic anhydride, the rate of photo-cure go fast, the film hardness increases from4H to5H, and the acid-base properties increases, but the water resistance decreases, the bibulous rate roses to12.7%from3.1%, the gloss advanced from 86°to118°. With the increase of the degree of neutralization, the rate of photo-cure get fast, but the resistance to water get down, and the bibulous rate rises to10.3%from6.6%.
