Modified silicone is synthesized by introducing other reactive groups to silicone molecular chain, thus different active groups endow the fabric with different characteristics. Common characteristics of these silicone softeners are: increasing the affinity between silicone and fiber, while giving the fibers more new features. In this paper, epoxy-modified silicone and carboxyl-modified silicone are synthesized. The main experiments and results are as follows:(1) Hydrogen silicone is synthesized by D4 and HMM with the catalyst of concentrated sulfuric acid. By single factor experiment, optimum process conditions are obtained as follows: reaction temperature is 50 ℃, reaction time is 8 h, amount of catalyst is 3 %.(2) Epoxy-modified silicone is synthesized by hydrogen silicone and epoxy-allyl polyether. Using chemical titration to test product hydrogen content, this experiment calculated hydrogen silicone Si-H conversion, namely reaction conversion rate. With single factor experiments and central composite design experiments, optimum conditions are obtained as follows: reaction temperature is between 100-110 ℃, the reaction time is between 7-8 h, material ratio of Si-H and C=C is 1:1.1. On this condition, the epoxy-modified silicone conversion rate reaches 91.1 %.(3) Ester-modified silicone is synthesized by hydrogen silicone and methyl methacrylate. Using chemical titration to test product hydrogen content, this experiment calculated hydrogen silicone Si-H conversion, namely reaction conversion rate. With single factor experiments and central composite design experiments, optimum process conditions are obtained as follows: reaction temperature is 132 ℃, the amount of catalyst is 6.4 ‰, material ratio of Si-H and C=C is 1:1.3, the reaction time is 12.6 h. On this condition, the ester-modified silicone conversion rate reaches 90.7%.(4) Carboxyl-modified silicone could be synthesized by hydrolyzing ester-modified silicone. With single factor experiment and orthogonal experiment study, optimum process conditions are obtained as follows: the reaction time is 120 min, the reaction temperature is 90 ℃, alkali concentration is 20%. On this condition, the hydrolysis of the ester-modified silicone is 82.8 %.(5) Complexing two modified silicone oils, when the quality of epoxy-modified silicone and carboxyl-modified silicone is 2:1 or 3:1, the fabric softness and smoothness gets good level, and hygroscopic changes a little.
