This article first elaborates the research background, significance and literature review at home and abroad. Then from FDI’s scale, regional distribution, industrial structure, source location, analysis the characteristics of FDI, then from energy consumption, and production, regional and industries’ energy consumption, analysis characteristics of energy. Through calculating Guangdong Province’s carbon emissions, per capita carbon emissions and carbon emissions intensity, analysis characteristics of the current carbon emissions and carbon intensity. On the basis of Grossman and Kruger trade environment effect theory from scale, structure, technical effect, analysis the impact of FDI to carbon emissions. In this paper, based on Kaya identical equation and the environmental Kuznets Curve theory, by constructing empirical model of industrial divisions, study the influence of Guangdong’s FDI on the carbon emissions intensity of the whole industries, excluding energy production and supply industries, labor-intensive industries, technology-intensive industries.Under the theoretical analysis and empirical analysis, this paper concludes that FDI and energy consumption have imbalance on area and the industrial distribution. FDI is concentrated in the economically developed region and has a high proportion in industrial departments. Results show that FDI is positive related the carbon emission intensity of the whole industries, the whole industries excluding energy production and supply industry, technology-intensive industries, but negatively related to labor-intensive industries. FDI has the lower effect on the carbon emission intensity of labor-intensive industry. Combined with the analysis of FDI impact on carbon emissions, in order to realize economic sustainable development, this paper puts forward relevant policy suggestions to promote FDI’s reasonable introduction and using.
