Yunnan is a treasure trove of genes in the world, whose ecological environment of it has an important impact on China and the world. In recent years,Yunnan has occurred carbon deficits, and the ecological environment has been deteriorated.Guangdong is one of economically developed province of China, and its industrial development process precedes Yunnan.Comparing Guangdong's industrial carbon emission target with Yunnan's can provide valuable experience for Yunnan's industrial carbon emission reduction. This article first analyzes energy consumption in Yunnan and Guangdong. Then calculated the industrial carbon emissions of the two provinces were calculated and analyzed.Yunnan and Guangdong industrial high-carbon industries has been identified through the value of trade's carbon emissions and the ratio of the trade's carbon emission to the industrial's.The characteristics of industrial high-carbon industries in two provinces were analyzed. The convergence and the correlation of carbon emission and carbon intensity have been studied by the convergence theory. The study found was as follows:(1)The consumption of industrial fossil energy accounts for most of the total energy consumption;(2)Industrial carbon emissions in Yunnan showed a fluctuating increasing trend, while industrial carbon emissions in Guangdong showed a trend of reverse U-type change;(3)The high carbon industry of Yunnan and Guangdong province respectively concentrated in 7 and 14 trades;(4)The total carbon emissions of the two provinces in the high carbon industry showed a trend of increasing first and then decreasing gradually, and the range of Yunnan's decline was higher than Guangdong's;(5)The carbon intensity of the high carbon industry in Yunnan was obviously higher than that in Guangdong, which the former showed a "U" trend, and the latter tended to gradually shrink;(6)Their carbon emissions' convergence was remarkable in 2006-2015 and their carbon intensity showed a periodic convergence. The following conclusions have been drawn:(1)the concentration ratio of backward regions are higher than that of developed regions.(2)carbon emissions from industrial high-carbon industries in backward regions are lower than those of industrial high-carbon industries in developed regions.(3)the carbon intensity of industrial high-carbon industries in developed regions is lower than that of industrial high-carbon industries in backward regions.(4)the carbon intensity of developed regions exists the absolute and conditional ? convergence, and that of backward regions only exists stage absolute ? convergence.(5)The effects of ratio of carbon emissions from the carbon industry to industrial carbon emissions, industrial structure and energy structure on the convergence of carbon emissions from industrial high carbon industries in developed and backward regions are quite different.(6)there is no significant correlation between the absolute ? convergence of carbon emissions and that of intensity.Based on the results of this study, reasonable suggestions for carbon emission reduction in Yunnan and Guangdong are put forward.
