In recent years, with the increasingly stringent standards for smoke emission and the affection of emission reduction policy, traditional industrial-frequency electrostatic precipitator(ESP) has become unable to satisfy the requirements of dust removal efficiency and energy consumption indicators. However, on the basis of in-depth research and scientific experiments on electrostatic dust-free mechanism, as well as the major technological innovation on ESP power supply, the high-voltage high-frequency power supply technology for electrostatic dust cleaner has been developed into one of most representative new-generation technology and has great development potential. Therefore, in order to improve the dust-removal efficiency, it is of great significance to study and design the high-voltage high-frequency ESP power supply control system. The main contents of this paper are as follows:1. The overall structure of power supply system for the high-frequency-high-voltage ESP was researched.By analyze the operating characteristics of the power circuits, detailed parameters of the power devices were calculated to determine the selection of power devices. Considering both system functional requirements and practical engineering application, hardware circuits of the ESP control system were designed. Then, overall software design for the power supply control system was given, mainly including spark judgment and processing, system control methods and system protection handling.2. The mechanism of spark occurrence and respective control methods were analyzed. The study for spark occurrence mechanism provided a theoretical basis for us to detect spark precisely. The implementation method of three-fold processing was designed to deal with spark occurrences, and several other control methods of spark were also discussed in this paper.3. Design of the power circuit protection system was completed. By analysis of failures which the power circuits might occur, corresponding hardware detection circuits were built. Meanwhile, using software algorithms to judge the failure type quickly, detailed software program for fault diagnosis and treatment was designed.4. A novel control method for high-frequency high-voltage ESP power supply system based on fractional order PID controller was proposed in this paper. Fractional order PID controller for the proposed ESP power supply system was designed, by using Oustaloup filter approximate algorithms built in Simulink to finish the approximate calculation of fractional order Calculus. In Simulink simulation, two different circuits of high frequency high voltage ESP power system were built, respectively based on fractional PID controller and integer order PID controller, so as to compare and analyze the performances of these two control systems. Then, the implementation of how to apply fractional order PID controller in practical application was also presented.Finally, the developed power prototype was put into the actual test and experimental waveforms were analyzed,. The operating results have fully verified the feasibility and reliability of the proposed high voltage high frequency power supply control system for ESP.
