~4tL~{tTh Abstract Today, the properties of crude processed by the refineries of our country are very different from each others. The competition of petroleum products market become more intensive than ever. So, the high adjustability for the changes of crude properties and market was highly demanded from the refmaries for their survive. As the adjustability for environment of a enterprise is its ability of contend, the application of infomation automatic technology could enhance the adjustable capability of changing environment. For this situation,the reflnary of petrochemical company of urumuchi of xinjiang using computer technique simulated the whole process of distillation to strengthen its adjustability for changing environment and product demand. The main point of simulation is to predict the behavior of a crude distillation process. The simulation was used io look for the optimal structure of products and the according operational parameters and optimal blend ratio of crude. Then the reflnary can make more profit. Petroleum refining process are highly complex and integrated. The unique characteristic set them from other chemical process. Becuase of the highly-coupled its parameters,we must consider this coupling character comprehensively fix a column structure and a case. For example,the trays of the compound column,the heat duty of pumparound and the draw quantity of side product are highly coupled. Most assay of crude of our country are not completed. The distillation curve covered only from 60 慍 to 500X2 without light ends analysis. Most of other properties curve are lacking. The complexity of refining process and the lacking of assay make the simulation more difficult. The reflnary of un.unuchi of xinjiang is designed for processing heavy crude to produce fuel oil products.It can refining 2.5 millions tons crude as its whole capacity. We have simulated the main columns of whole refining precess. We use theory tray to fit the efficiency of every simple column and the whole compound column. For realizing crude dynamic blend as the simulation running, I have extended the functions of Aspen plus supplied by connected the assay database of PetroData. We coded this program based on the OLE automation program inerface which is provided by Aspen Plus(version 10.1). At last we released the simulation application in our user inerface.It is very similar and easy to the chemical engineers. According to experts experience and comparing the simulation result with the design data, this model of refining process can discribe the real process very well. But sometimes error will be considerable becuase of the error of assay. For the lacking of properties data we coundn抰 track the properties of petroleum products, so the work of optimization was delayed.
