County Eco-environmental Quality Assessment Theory And Methods - Mizhi County, Shaanxi Province, For Example

Evaluation on the quality of the regional ecological environment is a systematic project, and there is no efficient set up to it so far. Under the background of the development of the western area , protecting and building ecological environment is prior, so it is of great importance to know how to evaluate it.Based on the analysis on the target ecological system in the northwest area, and the constructional plans and factor and index system of the sustainable development in the ecological model area, this paper evaluates the quality of the ecological environment in Mizhi county from 1995 to 2000 by using fuzzy synthetic assessment. Then linear sum weight method is used to evaluate the quality of the regional ecological environment from 1995 to 2000. The contrast results are of the satisfactory consistence. To farther prove the results, analytic hierarchy process and the Arcview software are combined to evaluate the quality of the ecological environment in 1999. Results of the quality grade of the regional ecological environment proved by the evaluation results of the 13 counties are of good consistence. Finally, several measures on the sustainable development are demonstrated on the basis of the evaluation results.This paper delores five aspects, which gains some new acquaintance as follows:(1)A new cognition of ecological environment quality is put forward;(2) A new intension of sustainable development is discussed ;(3)Probe primarily into theoretical foundation of the research on regiongal eco-environment quality;(4)An index system that is common in the northwest area is set up ,which evaluate the quality of the ecological environment;(5)Several evaluation methods of regional eco-environment quality are compared, and an optimized one is put forward .which is more operational.
