Many factors have influence on ore crushing and grinding, but the most important factor is the macchanical property of the ore, for it is not only the basic factor determining ore's breakage but also the foundation of any crushing behavious. This paper has studied the compressive resistance, tensice, shear, bending and shock of megnetoilmenite of mountain Lan and Zhu-jia in Panzhihua, and also measured the ore's clastic modulus poisson's ratio, breaking stiffness The paper has analysed the ore's meshanical property systematically and fully.Though the measurement and the analysis the strength of abnormal shape ore, and the use of notion of crushing energy density, it breaks the influence of traditional ore's normal shape, we measues and calculates the abnormal ore's compressive resistance, which makes the ore's mechanical property much alike the fracture behavious in real, fracture process. Therefore, this paper hasgueat instructive sense.Because there ore many cracks in the ore, it has great property of noneven and size effect ion. Especially when the size of ore is 10~15mm, the value of ore's compressive resistance change distinctly. It states that largee or small strength will have different. Behavious if take the size sacrtical point. In terms of mechanical stength must correspond with the mechanical behaviour of crushing appliance .ball grinder mainly use shock and grinding strength, while the cone cracker mainly use bending and extrusion stress, So, it is thought that the size of final production of crushing process must be 10~15mm, which is good for making use of the ore's mechanical property an cutting the total consumption in crushing and grinding process.The work index and watt consumption indicate that mine of mountain Lan or Zhujia fit the theory of Kick in crushing process well, while in grinding process, they fit the theory of Bond well.
