This paper contains three chapters totally.The first chapter is summarization. In this chapter, the classification and the development of tanning agent were expounded. The un-substitutability of chromic tanning agent and the significance of re-tanning and the serious harmfulness of chromic tanning industrial waste water to environment were also pointed out. From those, the significance of "The revolution of Tanning agent and Technology of chromic tanning " was elicited. Based on this, a new idea and scheme was put forward.The second chapter was divided into three sections. The first section is about the synthesis of MAANa/AANa/SAS copolymer system. The second * section contains the intrinsic viscosity measuring of copolymer ligand and the results and discussion about the copolymer. The construction and compose of the sodium acrylate copolymer and its complex with Cr + were studied with IR, DSC and TGA ,and the results were discussed in third section,The application experiment about different composition tanning agents was studied in the third chapter. The sections of the leathers were observed with the Scanning electron microscope( SEM), the shrinkage temperature of the leather were measured and content of chromium(III) in waste water of tanning was measured through ICP. With deep research, we have obtained a new copolymer metal complex as tannage which can enhance the shrinkage temperature of leather more than 30 癈. The content of chromium(Ill) in waste water was only about 10-20mg/L, just near to "GB8978-88, (O.Olg/L)".
