The influence of different cure systems.blending ratios, fillers, homogenizing agent 60NSF, ENR and modified EPDM through graft reaction with potassium oleate on properties of EPDM/NR blends were studied. The results showed as following: 1 .Sensitivity of curing of NR to DCP is different to that of EPDM to DCP. In general, the level of DCP in NR had better be 2.0-3.0, while the level of DCP could be 7.0 in EPDM. 2.The properties of solvent-resistance of the vulcanizates of peroxide cure system are better than muiti-crosslinking system vulcanizates, but their physical-mechanical properties are reverse. 3. The properties of solvent-resistance of the vulcanizate are better than other blending ratios when the blending ratio of EPDM/NR is 80/20, and their changes of volume and weight are lower than 30%. 4. The synthesized properties of vulcanizates filled with white carbon blending with clay or white carbon blending with talc powder are better than other fillers among our study, moreover, their properties of solvent-resistance are good and their changes of volume are lower than 12%. 5.Homogenizing agent 60NSF could improve processing technology of EPDM/NR blends and homogenization of blending on EPDM/NR, the surface of the compounds are smooth and the time of mixing could shorten to 2/3 compared to the blends without homogenizing agent 60NSF. 6.ENR could improve compatibilization of EPDM/NR blends, the properties of solvent-resistance and tension set of the vulcanizates are improved, their elongation at break and changes of volume are reduced to 50% and 60% respectively. T.Modified EPDM through grafting proper ratio of potassium oleate could improve obviously compatibilization of EPDM/NR blends; the synthesized properties of the vulcanizates are better than vulcanizates without grafting. 8.
