The synthesis process of polydiallyldimethylammonium chloride (PDM) with high molecular weight was studied in this paper. The monomer solution of diallyldimethylammonium chloride was purified moreover based on a certain modified refining craft of monomer. The effects of factors, such as starting monomer concentration, reaction temperature, initiator amount and reaction time on the polymerization of forming PDM and the intrinsic viscosity of corresponding products were investigated respectively. Finally, The process of polymerization was optimized, and the intrinsic viscosity of the product PDM could reach 2.68dL/g. When the reaction time was prolonged under the optimum process conditions, the intrinsic viscosity of the product PDM could reach 2.79dL/g, which is higher than the best value of that reported in domestic documents.
