Innovation is the foundation of the improvement of science and technology. Mechanical quality and product cost are controlled by mechanism innovation, it is important to mechanical engineering and an important way to develop machine industry.Based on the innovation concepts, significances, thought and methods, this paper focuses on the basic theory, methods and application of the mechanism innovation design.Composite design is an important way to mechanism innovation. In this paper, the theory and the methods of series-wound combination, shut-wound one, multi-way one and overlapped one are put forward, the application of model "Ⅰ" "Ⅱ" series wound combination, model "Ⅰ" "Ⅱ" "Ⅲ" shut-wound one, model "Ⅰ" "Ⅱ" "Ⅲ" multi-way one and model "Ⅰ" "Ⅱ" overlapped one are introduced. At the same time, the difference between the mechanism combination and the composite mechanism is defined.The evolution and variance theories in mechanism is an important way to improve mechanism quality and create new mechanism. This paper investigates these theories systematically and detailedly. A complete new system of the evolution and variance of the mechanism is built by combining the inversion of the machine frame, the expansion of kinematic pair, the change of the component shapes, the imitation of the movement principle, the regeneration of the kinematic chains, and so on. Moreover, the concept on isomerism mechanism of the same type and the congenial mechanism of the different type are put forward.The problem of Yan' s mechanism creative design theory is analysized deeply. In the first time, the theory that a screw pair can be replace by a binary link is put forward in the process of generalized mechanism, vice versa.The isomorphism detection of kinematic chains and the configuration simulation detection are difficult problem in the applying process of thetheory of kinematic chains regeneration creative design, present isomorphism detection is very complicated and low efficient. Proceeded from the isomorphism' s principle of graph theory, this paper presents a new structural invariant of kinematic chains, and leading to the development of a new methodology for detecting isomorphism among planar kinematic chains using the assembly of the shout path compared with the other existing methods, the proposed method is much more intuitive and simple. Based on this, a new methodology for detecting configuration simulation using the powers adjacent matrix has also been developed finally.Impact tapping as a new method of thread tapping has been developed recently by foreigners. In this paper, in order to avert present patent design, the theory of kinematic chains regeneration creative design has been applied in impact tapping. By the process of original mechanism analysis, generalized chain, number synthesis, defining design principle, regeneration kinematic chains, we can get six new kinematic chains. Based on this, these new kinematic chains have been particularized into six new mechanisms which own independent knowledge property right.
