From operating at field to controlling in DCS (Distribute Control System), and from paper quality depending on the work's experience to it controlled by QCS (Quality Control System), from paper aspect depending on the work's eyes to online WIS(Web Image System), these technologies have changed the paper making of mode and prodigiously increased at quality and quantity.On this decade, the trend of developing on paper making is quickly. Some paper mills have taken technology innovation or build new paper machine. To improve quality and increase quantity and gain the new of profit, these paper machines have adopted DCS from foreign or homemade.According to need for designing and maintaining DCS to consumer, this paper makes reference to consumer and deviser and the project engineer. According to the author's experience on maintaining and designing for DCS after several years, he have summarized some key on maintaining and designing for DCS. These may make reference to craft brother.Firstly, the article introduced the general situation on DCS, summed up the basic frame for DCS, and survey on paper making automation at domestic and foreign, and the paper method of design and study.The secondly chapter introduced frame and characteristic on each stage of DCS .DCS developing can set off four stages so far, the chapter discussed being time and mostly frame about DCS each stage; the DCS characteristic discourse upon DCS hardware, software, communication and reliability.The third chapter introduced design method on DCS. Firstly, it discussed the characteristic of the paper making, including: process of disturbing, the peculiarities of the paper making process, the special request of the paper making process. Secondly, it talked over the design of paper DCS, including the control system project design, the means of designing for DCS, the work for designing DCS, the content of budgetary estimate, lastly it discussed the invite public bidding.The fourth chapter according to the author's experience on the paper DCS designings installing, debugging and maintaining after several years, combine the project, summarized some practicality experiences and technologies. At the meantime evaluated the now DCS system, and put forward reconstruct project: integration FCS with DCS.The fifth chapter compared the DCS with PLC and FCS. The chapter introduced those of system the base characteristic and difference, and compared with those from investment and design and using, from among DCS is superior to FCS or PLC.The sixth made a conclusion and brought forward my opinion on DCS develop: DCS can not replace for FCS along with appearance for FCS .
