As an efficient method which test , control and dispatch manufacturing facilities and the process of production, Monitoring System is widely used in industry with the development of information technology. China falls behind developed countries in developing mining information techniques. Many mines still use ordinary analog instruments to monitor production process, which has bad real-time and control performance; besides, parameters sampled by these instruments are not so accurate. So it is very necessary that develop suitable monitor systems for mines automation by the developing computer and network technology. The research topic of this paper sourced from the project-Monitoring System of Mineral Processing, one of automation projects of YiChun Tantalum & Niobium Mine taken by The Intelligent Mechanism Institute of Central South University. In the first place, according to the process of mine selection and the requirements of producing control, and based on the analysis of Fieldbus technology and the status of monitoring system, a Modbus fieldbus based monitoring system is brought forward for the selection and measurement of minerals. In addition, according to engineering acquirement an anti-interference scheme by using special hardware is designed, and Weighted Move Average Algorithm is applied to filter original data. Thirdly, a Fuzzy-PID algorithm is put forward and a Fuzzy-PID controller is designed for flow control. At last, based on Kingview 6.5 software, monitoring software is compiled. By connecting monitoring software with PLC, a distributed monitoring system with Fieldbus function is realized. From practice, following conclusions can be made. 1) The frame of monitoring system is reasonable; 2) data communication and processing is correct; 3) the monitoring system is stable. These practices show that the paper does a valuable job and research conclusions of this paper can be applied to other mines.
