Case-based Reasoning Mold Design Research

Mold industry is a foundational one in the industry areas, and molds are widely used in different industries. The developing of industry, particularly the rapidly developing of computer software and hardware, has greatly promoted the developing of mold. Currently the CAD technology has been used in the design of mold, and is becoming a trend. Under the condition of modern design, mold industry faces a new technology revolution.The theory of numerical method based on the process of Case-based Reasoning (CBR) is to find all relevant experience and knowledge on new problems in the Knowledge Base of memory, and then integrates parts of high relevant degree into new process for new problems. The advantage of CBR is to learn from experience. The application of CBR in modern life can be said pervasive. The article first introduces the current situation of mold CAD, and discusses its advanced technology and developing trend. Then this article introduces the key technology of CBR, and contacts this technology with the overall design of mold CAD system.Based on the previous chapters, this article uses a lot of chapters to discuss the expression of mold cases. Cases applied show the cases' search strategy, and also coordinate and enrich the past cases' expression. At the end, the author gives a Prototype System for mold CAD based on CBR.Applying CBR into mold design, we can directly solve current problems depending on similar problems previously solved. Thus we can avoid duplication of design work, improve the design quality of mold and shorten the design cycle.
