Numerical Control Plate Printer is one of the important ancillary equipments in steel plants, which is required to work stably for a long term in the process of production. But, in fact, the running status of this equipment would be abnormal under some circumstance. If the abnormal status develops to a certain extent, it will affect the function of the equipment badly, consequently reduce the efficiency of the production. In this paper, the Virtual Instrument technique combined with Time-frequency Signal Analysis is used to build a kind of vibrant Condition Monitoring system on the Numerical Control Plate Printer.This paper introduces the research actuality of the vibrant testing technique and the technique of Condition Monitoring and fault diagnosis, discusses the common method used to vibration signal analysis, and especially focuses on non-stationary signal analysis methods. According to the actual demand of online monitoring and diagnosis, and compared with other analysis methods, STFT(Short-time Fourier Transform) method is utilized to analyze the vibrant signal, and the parameters of this method include a suitable window and the window length are confirmed. At last, the testing result proves that this method is feasible.This paper researches the implementation of Virtual Instrument based on DAQ card, and build a kind of vibrant Condition Monitoring system on the Numerical Control Plate Printer. The hardware platform of the system is composed of sensor, charge amplifier, DAQ card and computer. The system software program is designed by module in graphical programming language LabVIEW, each module can be developed separately and used to finish a subtask, this makes the system easy to be rebuilt. System setting module, data acquisition and storage module, data analysis module are especially developed. This system realizes the online fault diagnosis on the Numerical Control Plate Printer.The research work in this paper is of great significance to the maintenance management for Numerical Control Plate Printer.
