Methanol heterogeneous selective oxidation to methyl formate is developed recently. As methyl formate is more and more important, study of this process is of significance. This paper have sieved thd best catalyst and reaction condition on the integral reactor. After appraising the active of catalyst, we have developed the best catalyst of V/Ti(a,(?))= 0.037, and best reaction condition of 165℃, and residence time is 3. 26s, moleratio of methanol and oxygen is 1. 1.The catalyst have been characterized by XRD, FT-IR, UV-visible diffuse reflectance , surface area measurement. Activity test have shown that there is a optimum V content (?)or the selectivity to methyl formate, which may result from a suitable balance between V5+ and V4+ content, eg. suitable balance between oxidizing properties and selectivity and surface area. For the catalyst of V/Ti(a.(?)) = 0.037, methods of character shown that it is a good crystal and best solid solution and there 's an optimum ratio of V5+ = 0 and V(4+) = 0. That is the reason of its high selectivity for methyl formate.Through feeding formaldehyde, we' ve got a scheme to explain the reaction result. The reaction is processing through the oxidizing route, eg. formate ions is procuced by oxidizing route instead of disproportionation.
