With the enhancement of environmental regulation requirement, issue of new wastewater discharge standard and constant improvement of people's requirement of the environmental quality, the treatment of pharmacy wastewater become a great urgent task.Zidovudine(AZT) pharmacy wastewater contains a large number of heterocycles compounds which are degradated difficultly. Most of the compound is the substance carcinogenic and causing lopsidedly and causing mutation, and the treatment to the kind of compound is focuses in environmental research at present. According to the national wastewater discharge standard and request of total amount of pollutant, it is essential to develop the research of AZT pharmacy wastewater treatment technology.In this paper, the present conditions of Chinese pharmacy wastewater treatment and possibility of SBR applying to pharmacy wastewater treatment were explored. At the same time, AZT production process, discharge and characteristic of waste water were briefly presented, and principal constituent of AZT pharmacy wastewater has been analyzed with the gas chromatography. Then, Degradation regulation of organic substance in the treatment process of AZT pharmacy wastewater by sequencing batch reactor (SBR) and Fenton reagent was studied from various aspects. And, The analysis about influence factors to SBR and Fenton reagent was advanced. Kinetic analysis of AZT pharmacy wastewater by sequencing batch reactor was developed on the basis of Monod model. The mathematic model of organic substance degradation in SBR treatment system strictly obeys the first-order kinetics relation under the best experiment condition. Experimental results were consistent with the model. Therefore, regulation of organic substance degradation became available.The final result indicated that, AZT wastewater can be degradated with SBR, or with SBR after Fenton reagent pretreatment. But, the measured parameters of the effluent quality can't met the secondary level requirements of the national wastewater...
