Injection molding is one of the most important polymer processing methods for producing plastic parts. Based on the simple introduction of mold/die industry development especially the plastic mold industry, the fundamental principle of injection mold CAD/CAE/CAM technology and its actuality of research and application are analyzed and evaluated objectively, and the research background, meaning and main content of the thesis are illustrated.From the fundamental principle of numerical simulation, the mathematical model of plastic melt in filling process established by the fundamental equations of viscous hydromechanics is investigated and discussed. Using the plastic molding analysis software, the injection molding process of a dolly frame, a key plastic part in a photographic printer, is simulated carefully through a computer. Through that, the runner system of the dolly frame mold is designed completely, and the weld line phenomenon in important postion of the part is overcomed. With the in-depth optimization analysis of molding process of the dolly frame, the cooling system's effect on product stripping temperature is simulated and predicted, and the cooling blue print is optimized; the shrinkage is thought to be the major factor influencing the accuracy of the molding product through a warpage analysis. With the comprehensive simulation analysis, the injection molding process and main process parameters of the dolly frame are ascertained.Based on the runner system's construction form and dimensions of the dolly frame mold gained by injection molding simulation, the structure of the dolly frame mold is designed by the aid of design software for injection mold. The joint face of the mold is designed successfully with the help of analysis of the structure and parting form of the dolly frame. Other accessories are also designed, and the standard mold base is assembled, the mold is designed completely. In order to grasp the design, machining and production course, on the basis of careful analysis of the machining craft and route of the dolly frame mold's typical construction part, an automatic NC machining programming is done to the part's milling course. Then the program is inspected by a NC machining simulation, and the quality of the program is proved tobe eligible.An analysis and comparison is arranged between the mold setting result and injection molding simulation result in the end. The comparison shows that the mold setting result is excellent agreement with the corresponding simulation result, which proved fully that the injection molding CAE is feasible and has a good instruction to injection mold design. The thesis expatiates detailedly on the injection mold's design and manufacture course with the help of mold/die CAD/CAE/CAM technology. That represents sufficiently the development tendency of mold/die industry based on modern science technology especially CAD/CAE/CAM technology.
