China is famous for textile, the textile industry is still the main industry in our country, and among them the printing and dyeing industry is very important. The work process in the laboratory is a key link in the work process of the printing and dyeing mill. It concerns the quality of the products and the competitive power of the enterprise. Liquid mixing is a work which needs be done repeatedly in the work process of the laboratory. It is not only labour intensity is great, but also the error is large when mixed liquid by hand. At present, the interrelated automation system imported is totally depended on the foreign technology, equipment, which increases the cost of goods. So it is urgently to design a set of automation system which matches the situation of China.The paper discusses the investigation and development of the auto liquid mixing system, and designs an auto liquid mixing system which has the characteristic of opening and adaptability.1. We designed an auto liquid mixing machine which can deal with 100 kinds of mother liquor with the integrated mentality of designing of the electromechanics. The mainly mechanical part of machine is the three-dimensional robot structure and the manipulator. It transmits power by guide screw, ball screw and synchronous belt, and is guided by linear motion guide.2. PMAC card that produced by Delta Tau Data System of U.S.A. is the control core. Four AC servo systems are controlled by PMAC card.3. The viewpoint of software engineering and the concept of modularization, as well as the advanced method of data acquisition, have been used to design the controlling software. The program language is VC++6.0 and the database is Access2000.The auto liquid mixing system was designed with the enterprise, which can match the need of our printing and dyeing industry. Its application can not only drop the labor intensity of the laboratory worker but also improve working efficiency and the ability of rapid reaction of the enterprise. And it has the good economic benefits and social benefits.
