The New Felbinac Transdermal Patches

Felbinac belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The dosage forms of felbinac available on the market are gel, unguent, lotion and adhesive patch. However, at present, felbinac transdermal therapeutic patches were not found at home.In this thesis, some physicochemical properties and the transdermal delivery across Guinea pig skin in vitro of felbinac were studied.For the successful development, a series of systematic studies were conducted. The prescription of felbinac TTS was designed. Pharmaceutical analysis methodology, quality standard, the properties and stability of preparations were studied.The results show that the formulation of felbinac TTS is prepared with 15% PVA, 15% methylcellulose, 2% felbinac, 10% ethanol and 8% 1,2-propanediol.The results studies indicate that felbinac-TTS has a stable permeation rate and has not any skin irritation. So it is a safe and effective transdermal therapeutic system.
