The research conditions of local stresses at nozzle connections in pressure vessels was summarized firstly, then this paper presented the stresses distribution at discontinuous place of the spherical internal pressure vessel heads with cylindrical nozzles which received external pressure by means of theoretical analysis method and finite element method and experimental verification. This paper mainly studied the feed inlet of explosion pulping equipment used in paper mills which is very special in structure. And this article presented the status of local stresses distribution at the connective place under different internal pressure. Firstly, the approximate trend of stresses distribution of the model was obtained by theoretical analysis calculation. Secondly, by means of ANSYS 10.0 software, the stresses status of the model was analyzed in details, and the curvilinear figures of the stresses distribution of this model was given. Finally, the stresses of the external surface of the model was measured by electrometric strain gauge technique, and the curvilinear figures of the stresses distribution of the external surface of the model was plotted and compared with the results of the finite element analysis and the theoretic analysis. The correctness of theoretic analysis and the reliability of the finite element analysis were verified by the experiment.
