Shanghai Public Environmental Awareness Survey And Evaluation Analysis

The public environmental awareness is an important symbol of local environmental protection level. In view of the fact that systematical investigation on the environmental awareness of Shanghai residents lacks extremely, for the purpose of understanding and grasping the present situation of Shanghai resident's environmental awareness, promoting the development of Shanghai environmental protection work, accelerating the construction of environment friendship city, the author of this thesis has established "Shanghai Public's Environmental awareness Questionnaire" on"Shanghai public's environmental awareness", and carried out a special investigation on environmental awareness of 19 areas or counties in shanghai with the quota sampling method in 2006. The statistical analysis using SPSS 13.0 for Windows to the investigation result indicates that: the overall environmental awareness level of Shanghai public is medium, the individual difference is big; the environment state-of-art is high, the environmental protection will is quite weak, the environmental protection behavior level is medium and somewhat low. The discrepancy between"the knowledge","the will"and"the behavior"is very serious, presents a situation that the knowledge advances, the will is weak, and the behavior lags.This thesis has also analyzed the influence to Shanghai public environmental awareness level caused by individual factors such as sex, age, years of schooling, occupation and the degree of satisfaction to household income and living standard. Accordingly, the article proposes some countermeasures to improve the Shanghai public environmental awareness level, mainly includes the following: enhance the propaganda of environmental protection, popularize environmental protection knowledge; develop environment education of different level, cultivate public's environmental protection will; enhance environment legislative work and environmental protection law enforcement, create a good legal system environment for the cultivation of public environmental protection behavior; develop the folk environmental protection association vigorously, construct an integral public environmental protection system; build"the environment culture", sparkplug"the ecology consumption", create a good society atmosphere for the enhancement of the public environmental awareness.
