With the development of world economy, the demand of garment and textile will tend to personality and diversification, which requests the traditional production system to transfer their production to variety and small batch. The characteristic of the textile digital ink jet printing technology, the demerits of the current printing production will be remedied considerably is the shorted processes and high qualitites, which will meet the demand of rapid production rhythm and quick response system. At present, the reseach and development of digital ink jet printing mostly focus on printer machine, ink and process and so on. The ink can be divided into two types: dyestuff ink and pigment ink. Pigment ink is characterized with simple craftwork, extensive use, energy saving and environmental. However, the pigment ink, compared with dyestuff ink, has some problems such as poor color, low fastness and poor handle feel, which were urgent problems to be solving.In this paper, the bleeding of ink was decreased and the color depth, brilliance and fastness were enhanced by improving pre/after-treatment processes and adding heating function of the printing bedplate, which were studied both on cotton and P/C fabric. The idea of heating bedplate, which were used for anti-bleeding in ink-jet printing on textiles to improve the color depth and brilliance, was proposed for the first time. Some changes were done on the existing flatbed printer by designing universal heating bedplate of flatbed inkjet printer, which has been applied for patented invention.The permeability of printing, the color depth and brilliance were evaluated by the rate of permeability, the Lightness L~* and the Chroma C~* values. And the printing phenomenons of ink bleeding on cotton woven fabric were studied by using the softening agents pre-treatment and the heating bedplate. The results showed that some anti-bleeding effects were obtained by using the conventional softening agents, and the rate of permeability could decreased from 11.9% to about 9.03%; the color brightness (the value of L~*) and the color brilliance (the value of C~*) were 50.16 and 43.83 separately. But the sharpness and color depth were increased more by using the heating printing bedplate. When the temperature of fabric surface reached about 60 degrees, the rate of permeability was 5.11%, which was half of that of softening agents pre-treatment; and the values of L and C were 48.47 and 45.99 separately, the rate of upgrading was about 2 times of that of softening agents pre-treatment At the same time, the application on different fabrics such as cotton knitting fabric, P/C and PET fabrics were also investigated and same results were obtained.Three kinds of printing binders were used to improve the rubbing fastness, soaping fastness and brushing fastness. After processing with binders, the fastnesses were improved remarkably, which the effects of the softening agents pre-treatment and the heating bedplate were little. The results suggested that the over-all properties of the super soft binder (commercial product) were highest. When the dosage was 7-10g/m~2, the rubbing fastness and the soaping fastness was about 4, while the scrub fastness was above 3, and the handle was soft. It may be satisfaction for most commercial productions.
