At present, the process designing of cotton textile mostly depend on staffer's experience, which request a lot of professional knowledge and long time working experience, and the parameters of designed process of cotton textile is based on a great deal of experiments. The traditional working style of process designing is heavy, frequently changeful, and the technic compromise is often blindly handled which bring on the hardness of process forecast and control, and influence the efficiency and quality. Besides the effect of process designing depends on the person designing it, can not make use of the huge designing case piled in the past to optimize the present case. All matters mentioned above greatly reduce the quality, cost and efficiency of cotton textile manufacture.The project of Intelligent Process Designing Platform for Cotton Textile(IPDPCT for short) is aimed at that problem above. This project is to develop a intelligent process designing software platform system which fit cotton textile industry based on National Techenology Supporting Plan. The aim is to enhance the efficiency of process designing and shorten the design cycle and be able to produce new process designing case based on the data before to manufacture good quality and low cost product.The following is the main content of this article:(1) Introduce the research backgroud and meaning of this problem, and analyze the actuality and trend of cotton textile industry information.(2) Introduce the process of cotton textile production, analyze the characteristic of cotton textile process design, followed by the requirement of cotton textile process design.(3) Put up macro design of the system, discuss the database model and data model. Bring forward function framwork of system, discuss the design pattern with component technology and bring forward layout struture of component object. (4) Analyze the key technology of the system, introduce the application of case based reasoning in cotton textile process design and the application of artificial neural network in quality forecast.(5) Discuss the development of intelligence calculation service and toolbox including artificial neural network calculation service, database customizing tool and process form design tool etc.(6) Introcuce each module and sub module in detail.
