The electrospinning Keratin/PVA nanofibers this paper refer to is the nanofibers electrospinned by 2 series solutions,one is made up of keratin original solution with PVA,and the other kind solution is made up of keratin,PVA,and NaCl.The methods to make the 2 kinds of solution is:species A is the solution of 5concentrations and 3 proportions of keratin original solution and PVA,the species B is the solution of 6 concentrations and 4 proportions of keratin,PVA and NaCl.for the two kinds solutions,the relevant instruments are used to measure the date of viscosity,the surface tension and the conductivity,before electrospinning.The scanning electron microscope(SEM)is used to investigate the morphology of nanofibers.and the properties of the two kinds of solutions including viscosity,surface tension and conductivity were measured and discussed.the influence of concentration of solution and solvent,the proportion of keratin original solution to PVA or keratin to PVA,processing parameters(voltage,receiving distance)on the spinnability of two kinds solutions.The molecular interaction between keratin and PVA was investigated by Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR).The results showed that for the A kinds solutions,the best proportion is 10/90,the best concentration is 8wt.%,at this preconditions the viscosity is 18.1mP/s,the surface tension is 34.5 Nm-1,and the conductivity is 5.6AV-1m-1;the best voltage is 20KV,the flowing rate is 1mm/h,and the distance from the tip to the receiver is 10cm;for the B kinds of solutions the best conditions are:the proportion is 12/88,the concentration is 10wt.%,the voltage is 18KV,the flowing rate is 1mm/h,and the distance is 10cm.There are many beads appears when electrospinning,it's helpful to adjust vary kinds of parameters to reduce this kind of structural defects,but those actions can not to eliminate the beads,both the A kinds of solutions and the B kinds of solutions,the diameters of electrospinning nanofibers are centralized from 100nm to 400nm.From FT-IR analyses,keratin and PVA have good miscibility and compatibility in water.
