Cigarette is a special consumable, and smokers are satisfied with some stimulation by smoking. Cigarette smoke is related to cigarette ingredients, that is, cigarette smoke is produced by combustion, pyrolysis, degradation, distillation. The cigarette paper which is main assistant material will be in for cigarette combustion directly. It affect the cigarette combustibility, the fragrance and taste of cigarette directly.Pyrolysis gas chromatography (PyGC) was established in 1959. With the development of analysis instruments and computer technique, pyrolysis gas chromatography-mass spectrum (PyGC-MS) was applied to analyze tobacco in 1970s. PyGC-MS is an analytical technique of tobacco chemistry, and promoted the development of it.It is one of important researching fields of tobacco chemistry to use cigarette paper pyrolysis modeling to establish relationships between cigarette paper and smoke components. In this thesis , the pyrolysis behavior of hemp pulp cigarette paper ,wood pulp cigarette paper, half hemp cigarette paper and color cigarette paper was investigated using thermal weight loss (TG) and pyrolysis gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (PyGC/MS).The pyrolysis behavior of the single kind of cigarette papers was investigated firstly;then analyzed the pyrolysis products of the different kinds of cigarette papers. The research will provide the reference for the cigarette applied to cigarette paper. In helium atmosphere, hemp pulp cigarette paper ,wood pulp cigarette paper, half hemp cigarette paper and color cigarette paper was pyrolyzed at 400, 500, 600, 700, 800 and 900℃, separately. The pyrolysis products were were qualitatively and semi-quantitati--vely analyzed.1. The pyrolysis products of hemp pulp cigarette pape were analyzed by PE-Elites 5MS capillary column and PE-Elites wax capillary column. At the six pyrolysis temperatures mentioned above, complex pyrolysis products were formed and 202 products were detected altogether, including alkenes (such as 1,3-cyclopentadiene) , ketones, acids (such as 2-ethylcyclopentanone), benzene , benzene derivatives (such as toluene and ethylbenzene) and PAHs (such as phenanthrene and anthracene) . Moreover, with the elevation of the pyrolysis temperature, the contents of alkenes and ketones were decreasing, and the contents of benzene, benzene derivatives and PAHs (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) were increasing gradually. The contents of harmful pyrolysis produces of the cigarette paper can be reduced by reducing the cigarette combustion temperature. Two columns analysis result existence many difference. The main difference between the two columns is due to the type and nature of the stationary phase of columns.2. Relative contents of the fragrant ingredient pyrolyzed from the wood-pulp cigarette paper increase first and then decrease by elevating pyrolysis temperature, relative contents of the fragrant ingredient increase observably. The aromatic hydrocarbon relative content increases along with the pyrolysis temperature increasinges; relative content of the phenol increase first and then decrease by elevating pyrolysis temperature. Reducing the cigarette combustion temperature can reduce the contents of harmful pyrolysis produces of the cigarette paper and increase the cigarette fragrance. At the six pyrolysis temperatures mentioned above, relative contents of aromatic hydrocarbon pyrolyzed from hemp pulp cigarette paper is lower than from wood pulp cigarette paper. At the low temperature, adverse effect to coming from hemp pulp cigarette paper is bigger than it coming from wood pulp cigarette paper, and the fragrant effect of wood-pulp cigarette paperis bigger than hemp pulp cigarette paper. Conversely, At the high temperature, adverse effect to cigarette fragrance coming from hemp pulp cigarette paper is han it coming from wood pulp cigarette paper, and increases the fragrant effect of wood-pulp cigarette paper is smaller than hemp pulp cigarette paper. In the cigarette paper production process ,matching the two kind of cigarette papers reasonably can increase cigarette fragrance well.3. Relative content of the aromatic hydrocarbon pyrolyzed from half hemp cigarette paper increases along with the pyrolysis temperature increasinges. Relative content of the phenol increase first and then decrease by elevating pyrolysis temperature. The fragrant ingredient relative content decreases along with the pyrolysis temperature increasinges. Between 600℃and 700℃, with reducing pyrolysis temperature, relative contents of the fragrant ingredient decreases observably;relative content of the aromatic hydrocarbon increases observably;the phenol relative content hardly changes. And when pyrolysis temperature is lower than 700℃, the fragrant ingredient relative content is higher than the phenol relative content, here, half hemp cigarette paper can increase cigarette fragrance best.4. There are compounds including N or S element in the pyrolysis gas of colored cigarettepaper. Most of these compounds have the adverse effect to the cigarette smoke and adverseeffect to the human body. Shoud be studied to cigarette paper. The deleterious substanceshoud can be avoid as far as possible.
