Through the analysis of the social role theory, this thesis has discussed both the structure and the actual content of the clothing role theory. Besides, the usability, the feasibility and the guidance aspect has carried on the meaningful attempt.First part of the paper contained the summary of basic theory. Based on the predecessor research results foundation, the social role theory has been analyzed explicitly. The development of the social role theory and the social role concept were also reported specifically. In the social attribute of clothing, it served as "the second skin of the person". Clothing exerted an influence on marking, etiquette, symbol between the human and the social environment. The social functions of clothing cause it to become the acting tool of the social role inevitably.Moreover, the elaboration of the innovation theory and the analysis of the stratification plane were stated in certain areas. The social role theory and clothing theory were made up of three aspects, the clothing role's concept, the clothing role's acting process, and the clothing role conflict.In additionally, it involved the practical application of clothing role. Clothing enterprise sets up a successful brand image by using the clothing role theory in the product image and the shop vivid aspect. The role theory assisted ordinary consumers or the specialized vivid designers to create two kind of new design mentality that is relations image design and the mark image design.
