Textiles are the second materials following iron and steel materials for the military, and are the basement to ensure army's fighting strength.Compared with common apparels,the protective clothing is small production,but is high added value.And also, its comprehensive performance is one of the standards to measure a country's military strength.Currently,it is enough for the gas protective clothing to protect wearers from the chemical reagent and microbe,but the clothing is heavy and has some side effect,such as heat build-up and condenser.Therefore,most of research and institutes focus on decreasing the weight and increasing the comfort properties while the total protective performance is maintained.The purpose of this thesis is to improve the comfort of out layer of gas protective clothing,and to design light and thin fabric.Furthermore,the attempt is provide an practical scheme for satisfying the requirement of the warp and weft's strength index by a series of the testing.Firstly,the fiber is the basic action in fabrics,the present design began with the selection of a new fibre,namely modified cellulose-base fiber by the name of lyocell and modal,and then the setting of weave parameters and weaving. In the first stage,several specifications of samples are tested,namely weight,thickness and the strength along the warp and weft direction,so that the initial scheme is selected preliminarily.In the second stage,four blocks of schemes are tested:lyocell as the warp yarn,the nearly same yarn count and firmness,the same weaving parameters, only different fabric texture(2/2,3/1) and weft yarn.By using a single yarn warper,the 21 meters long fabric sample is woven in terms of four different schemes,respectively, so that fabric surface keeps stable and consistent.And then,four fabrics are finished to study the final performance by the functional finishing process,and the wear index such as moisture permeability;gas permeability,are tested.By comparing and analyzing the recording results,the conclusions are that the weight and thickness of the out-layer of gas protective clothing decrease,and the strength along the warp and weft direction increases.Moreover,the overall comfort property is improved.Therefore,the best scheme is obtained on the basis of the two chosen new fibers in designing the feathery protective clothing,and it is also verified that the use of green fiber—lyocell is reasonable.The use of lyocell solves the problems in weaving protective clothing,and functional properties and wearability are realized.Furthermore,it is friendly to environment.The goal is achieved.
