Different substitutions in 4- of fluorescent compounds like 1,8-naphthalic anhydride had different impacts on fluorescent capacity.This paper designed two fluorescent compounds with different substitutions in 4- to analyze their fluorescent density in same condition and chose the better one to synthesize a new fluorescent monomer solved in water.Fluorescent capacity was affected by many factors,one of them with outstanding status was 4- substitution and the 4- substitution always was 4- alkoxy or 4- amine.Using 4-Br-1,8-naphthalic anhydride as a starting material,via amidation,and substitution gave 4-methoxy-N-(3-N',N'-dimethylaminopropyl) naphthalimide and 4-N,N-dimethylamine -N'-(3-N",N"- dimethylamine) naphthalimide by reasonable design.4-methoxy-N-(3-N',N'-dimethylaminopropyl) naphthalimide had better fluorescent capacity by comparing the fluorescent density in same conditions.Via quaterisation of the amine,gave 4-methoxy-N-(3-N',N'-dimethylaminopropyl) naphthalimide,2-hydroxy-3-allyloxypropyl quaternary salt.The detect lower limit of the new compound was 4.242×10-3mgL-1,and the total yield was 70%by optimizing.
