Carbon fiber as one of typical high performance fiber has been used in military industry, civil application, aeronautics and astronautics. Carbon fiber is a technology-intensive product which process is so complex that more and more study has been carried out.The kilometer pitch carbon fiber roll-up system is composed of rotary drum, rolling bearings, bearing framework, cross beam, rotary drum end plate, driving motor and control system. Because of the heavy mass and high rotational speed of the rotary drum, its kinetic energy is so big that it is necessary to analyze the kinematics and statics of drive shaft.According to the design requirements of fiber drawing length and feasibility, two schemes were proposed. Then UG was utilized to design the 3-D modeling of roll-up system parts. Based on the analyzed of ADAMS of these 3-D modeling in xt styles, the optimizing parameters of angular velocity, angular acceleration and kinetic energy were built. At last ANSYS was adopted to analyze the parameters of driving shaft in static and emergency braking.The experimental result shows that the kilometer pitch carbon fiber roll-up system can run normally in static and kinetic. The research must contribute to the development of carbon fiber industry in home.
