At present, the ergonomics issues in wood processing industries are very prominent, and operating fatigue is one important aspect. In addition to the completion of the necessary control tasks, the operators must also overcome the prolonged standing, bending, the large loaded manual material handing work, as well as vibrancy,noise and other undesirable operating environment. Operating fatigue problem is particularly serious on operational posts with push table saws. Operating fatigue, will not only result in a decline in work efficiency, but also lead to human error accidents and personnel waist injuries from occurring, many people working with fatigue form the large hidden dangers. Bun at present, the operating fatigue study on the specific jobs of the wood-processing industries is not go far enough. Based on security Ergonomics, choosing wood operational posts with push table saws to, conduct fatigue research has important practical significance.In this study, Field investigations were conducted with combination observation and self-report method on the operator who were working with the table saws, and know the status quo of the working fatigue. Use relevant biomechanics measures and the Jack software simulation and other methods to analyze the operation process, master the operating units which will cause fatigue and the central action which can lead to Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSD),and the operator's operating fatigue was further assessed. Up on the analysis, came out these conclusions:The survey show that, at present stage, on push table saw's work place, the operator's weary feeling is very big, and they are confronted with bigger physiologic and psychological pressure in the process of work. Results of the biomechanics analyse of MMH show that the worker's stress is bigger then the recommended weight limit, and it makes an increased risk of fatigue and low back injury for most of the healthy workers. And it also drew the conclusion that the initial height of the lifting and the work posture has great effects on the lumbar vertebrae compression force. According to the operation simulation and the task analysis on Jack software show that, the estimated energy expenditure rate for lifting and lowering is above the recommended value, and indicating an increased risk of injury due to fatigue. It also indicates that recovery time needed is much more then the recovery time available and there is excessive fatigue potential for the carry task. The low back compression force is above the NIOSH Back Compression Action Limit of 3400N.The NIOSH lifting analysis indicates that the load weight is greater than the recommended limit for the lifting task. Some healthy workers would find this job physically stressful.This study carry on an investigation into operating fatigue based on the establishment of Biomechanics model and the virtual human model, the conclusion provide a reference in human-machine safety for wood processing enterprises improve the operating procedures of operational posts with push table saws and conduct of work space layout, as well as posts designed. It has some practical significance for expansion the operating wood management ideas in wood processing enterprises and protects the safety and health for the operations person.
