The regeneration of waste rolling oil for aluminum foil (waste oil for short) has been studied in this paper. The vacuum distillation-fuller's earth adsorption refinement without nitrogen process (VDFEARWTNP for short), vacuum distillation-fuller's earth adsorption refinement with nitrogen process (VDFEARWNP) and vacuum distillation-silica gel adsorption refinement-rotary evaporator process (VDSGARREP) have been compared and considered. The quality of regeneration oil was comprehensively evaluated, and the index of quick evaluation was established.Three parameters of regeneration processing were obtained by optimization. The VDFEARWTNP:the vacuum was controlled between 0.09MPa and 0.10MPa, waste oil was handled by vacuum distillation. Vacuum oil, of which distillation range was 140℃to 160℃, was intercepted. Under the technological conditions of 20min refinement time, 60℃refinement temperature and 6% fuller's earth content, regeneration oil 1 was obtained by the FEARWTNP; The VDFEARWNP:Under the technological conditions of 20min refinement time,55℃refinement temperature and 5% fuller's earth content, regeneration oil 2 was obtained by the FEARWNP; The VDSGARREP:Petroleum ether was considered as eluent, and silica gel was considered as stationary phase. Vacuum oil was slowly filled into chromatography column. The elution oil, which was from silica gel refinement process, was poured into rotary evaporator. The rotary evaporator technological conditions were 0.09-0.10MPa vacuum,95-105℃distillation temperature and 20r/min rotational speed. Regeneration oil 3 was obtained in the end. The results showed that the recovery rates of three regeneration stock oils were more than 84 percent.The properties of regeneration oils have been researched. The components were measured by GC-MS, Ultraviolet Spectrometry and Ultraviolet Fluorescence. The physic-chemical and application properties of regeneration oils were also measured. For instance:chromaticity, density, acid value, distillation range, surface tension, kinematic viscosity, oil film strength, thermal stability, flash point (closed cup), annealing performance and so on. The results showed that the index properties of regeneration oil have reached the requirements of rolling oil for aluminum foil.The relation between components and properties has been reviewed, and the relation among different properties has also been reviewed. The results showed that chromaticity was involved with acid value in a certain range; the relation of light components and heavy components were reflected by the distillation range and thermal stability; the content requirement of heavy components was contrary between oil film strength and annealing property. The high content of heavy components was helpful for oil film strength, but the annealing performance was poor; the oil film strength and kinematic viscosity were contrary among the requirements of lubrication, cooling and cleaning. The large oil film strength lowered the coefficient of friction and enhanced the lubricating property. In general, the kinematic viscosity was large, and the oil film strength was large too. However, the kinematic viscosity was lower, cooling and cleaning performance were better; There was a contradiction between flash point and kinematic viscosity. The low kinematic viscosity accompanied with better cooling and volatile performance as usual, but the flash point was low.The performance and cost of regeneration oil were regarded as research objects. The research showed that properties of regeneration oil 3 was the best, but operation requirements were higher, process route was longer, the production periodicity was longer and cost of production was higher; Properties of regeneration oil 2 was medium. The process route of VDFEARWTNP was shorter and the cost of production was lower. However, the aging stability of regeneration oil 1 was worst, and consumption of fuller's earth was larger. In conclusion, the VDFEARWNP was selected as regeneration process of waste rolling oil for aluminum foil.Based on the comprehensive comparison, the index of quick evaluation was established. The chromaticity range should be controlled between 0.042 and 0.074.
