As the development of the society, People pay more and more attention to steel structure in construction business because of it's material characteristic.At Present, Because of the excessive construction in real estate, Chinese people confront with the threat of source shortage and environmental deterioration.The ministry of construction P.R. China Pay more attention to the actuality and initiate the development of steel structure house several times in order to upgrade the house building mode. Multi-storey and High-storey steel structure residence have following excellent performances:fast construction, high industrialization, high economic and technical index, good anti-seismic capability.Steel structure residence has natural advantage, as well as productive policies in our country at Present state.Although a series of multi-storey and high steel structure residence has being built for test, the structural system must be got further research and performing.The paper introduces several main structural systems applying in steel structure residence and aggregates their respective character at first, then select typical multi-storey (six-storey) and high-storey (12-storey,18-storey) residential project for examples, and use the H-steel beams,steel pipes columns,H- steel columns and concrete columns for the pure framework,the framework-supporting,the framework-concrete shell--three common structures, then take advantage of the current common calculation and design software STS and STAWE, in consideration of the load combination and in the analysis and comparison of the displacement,steel volume and other indicators at 7 and 8 degrees of seismic intensity regions, then get the most appropriate structure in different places respectively.The focus of this paper is building a set of applicable design method of multi-storey and high-storey steel structure residential system, in view of the current steel structure housing of our country, through a series of calculations and comparative analysis. After the useful study and exploration to current multi-storey and high-storey steel structure residence using what structure, the research results have a certain meaning and value in promoting the development and perfecting of steel structures, then make a modest contribution to the development of multi-storey and high-storey steel structure residence in our country.
