Multi-storey steel structure residence has following excellent performances: fast construction, high industrialization, high economic and technical index, good anti-seismic capability. Steel structure residence has natural advantage, as well as productive policies in our country at present state. Although a series of multi-storey and high steel structure residence has being built for test, but the structural system must be got further research and performing.The thesis introduces several main structural systems applying in steel structure residence, and their respective character get conclusion; for a six storey steel structure residence with different structural systems, such as bare frame system,steel frame- Concrete tube system,steel frame-prop structure system and etc, structural displacement, amount of using steel and other index are analyzed and compared by common structural calculation soft, that is PKPM, when combination of different loads is applied to these structures. Based on the above work, it is concluded that steel frame supporting system is more suitable for six storey steel structure residences in the 8 degree anti-seismic area. Dynamic character of the six storey residence with bare frame system and frame supporting system is calculated by the finite numerical element soft ANSYS, and their dynamic response is also got when El-centrol wave is sent into the structures. Some useful conclusions are got.In this paper, through a series of calculations, comparasion and analysis, which structural system should be selected for steel structure residence at present got further research. To prompt development and popularity of steel structural residence, the findings will take a certain role of instruction and reference.
