| With the product design being increasingly complex and diverse with small quantity, some advanced design techniques, such as multidisciplinary robust optimization design has been increasingly used to improve products quality and reduce the time for products to market. Robust design method is that when the system is disturbed and its performance can be maintained, or the product is insensitive to kinds of uncertainties which included the outside environment and internal factors to improve product quality arid reduce costs.On based of the robust design theory and the present situation of the optimization design theory at domastic and abroad in brief, the main problems of optimization design is proposed:the initial value selection of design variable; the reliability and robust questions were caused by random fluctuation and extraneous interference of design variable; deterministic optimization of results are often located near the border, and a failure design is resulted in random fluctuation etc. To solve the problems, a six sigma robust design method based on response surface methodology was proposed. The robust design has good prospects, which made the product is insensitive to environmental change, ensured the reliability of the product and reduced costs.Taking the design of planetary reducer as an example, the presented method was used to obtain better optimum solution than the one with the deterministic optimization method. The software platform of iSIGHT of Dassault Systems was described to automatic the modern robust optimal design, which not only searches the optimum results for the design object, but also improves the robustness and reliability of a product. |
