Development of public transportation is an important method to improve traffic resource utilization and ease traffic congestion. Bus bay can ease the traffic congestion near bus stop, and reduce the disturbance of the side traffic. It also can reduce the effect of the traffic bottlenecks towards vehicles and to go after the first bus overtaking flow which is formed going with bus stopped, and guarantee the normal operation of traffic stream. Due to the more space resources and the high cost of construction, we should explore the real rode section and design the program to determine the rationality of the construction when we want to build the bus bay. But in actual construction, bus bay will be constructed only when we have enough funds. Aiming at this problem, this dissertation has researched in which flow rate and bus start density we should build the bus bay by simulation.First of all, the dissertation analyzes microscopic characteristics about bus stopping, and expatiate the impact for traffic stream in each docking stage on detail, and establish the influence factor for car's delay.The emphasis of the dissertation is the designs for the simulation plan aiming at traffic effect caused by bus stop. Mainly includes the appropriate survey scheme and build a simulation model based on the analysis of the affecting factors and the requirements of simulation software. At the same time, it also analyzes the details, including simulation time, affected road section length and lane number. It demarcates the simulation result using The Orthogonal Experiment, and make sure that the model could reflect the real running state of traffic stream.At last, it analyzes the diversity of traffic stream's running behavior under two style bus stops when the traffic flow and bus start density is changed.
