This article describes the principle of common modeling method and controlling means for Voltage Regulator Modules, and focus on study the nonlinear control method of VRM, then the concept of passive control is introduced. First introduces modeling method of the Integrated Magnetics and lay the foundation for model building of two-phase integrated magnetics.then, from passive control method of two-phase VRM to establish its mathematical model, the derivation of passive control methods and simulation verification are given in Simulink of MATLAB7.0,it is shown that passive control can be applied to the two-phase VRM, and improve its steady-state and dynamic performance, in order to be able to extend passive control strategies to multi-phase VRM, the three-phase VRM based on passive control strategy is design, and the summary of design steps for multi-phase VRM based on passive control strategy is given. Finally, the passive control is introduced into the two-phase planar integrated magnetics VRM, and this article attempt to combine the advantages of integrated magnetics and passive control to further improve the performance of two-phase VRM, compared to two-phase VRM, the simulation results of the two-phase planar integrated magnetic VRM based on passive control are provided,it confirms that the steady-state ripple and dynamic response have been improved by the two-phase planar integrated magnetic VRM based on passive-based control.
