Study Of Hvdc Simulation Training System

HVDC technology is making rapid progress in China. It has the characteristics as far transmission distance, large capacity and flexible control, etc. The transmission of China power grid is now developed into a AC-DC combination mode. With the development of strategy of "transmission from West to East, North-South mutual supply and establishment of overall grid", with the development of strategy of "transmission from outside to Shandong", Shandong grid is facing the change of characteristic at grid terminals. The operation of AC-DC combination mode becomes a challenge. The conflict between grid development and staff training is becoming more and more dramatically and urgently. With the establishment and operation of HVDC sample"Ningxia East to Shandong", it is more important to train operational staff for DC transmission. Then, it is necessary and crucial to set up a complete simulation training system of DC transmission.This paper includes the concept of HVDC simulation training system, its history and development at both home and abroad, its present condition of research. Based on"Ningxia East to Shandong" transmission project, the paper analyzed the demand and function of HVDC simulation training system, analyzed the specific requirements in three-dimension scale, monitoring system and training. This paper mainly studied the operational styles of HVDC simulation training system, designed the selections of hardware, function arrangements and network configurations. According to workplace demand, four training styles are designed including operation,-three-dimension monitoring, fault setting and disposal, assessment and test. This system set up a good platform for training of grid staff and grid research.This paper gave the corresponding modification and improvement in terms of the problems taking place in practical application and test. It also forecast the further development of HVDC simulation training system.
