This paper proposes some analysis and research of reform as to problems on the rotary mechanism of truck crane in engineering mechnical, then the example of slewing bearing of QY25t truck crane was studied. According to the load and geometric parameters which provided by designing, the 3d model of slewing bearing was constructed, at the same time, finite element analysis and reliability calculation has been made. The main contents including:1. The modeling of slewing bearing has been done by using 3d software Pro/ENGINEER 2.0. Especially on the precise modeling of inner ring, namely, involute column gear. In order to the convenience of the afterward designing, The author also establishes parts library of outer ring, inner ring, roller, and component library of slewing bearing, used the secondary development tool of group tables in Pro/E.2. The modeling of parts or component can be introduced into the finite analysis system rapidly and conveniently by using the interface technology between Pro/E and ANSYS Workbench 9.0. Then making use of finite element method, we analyse the structure, also rigidity analysis and strength analysis. We can conclused that slewing bearing based on the stress deformation situation whether we used is correct, and can be beared certain load, as well as other dynamic analysis, such as modal analysis, thermal analysis, coupling analysis etc.3. From the model of stress results we obtained, according to the stress results, we can solve the reliability by applicating reliability calculation. Then a comparative study of reliability and target reliability, we can make certain structral designing and calculation. This method can account whether stress and deformation is on the area we allowed or not, and still achieved the checking calculation once again. It makes the finite element obtained a high credibility.Using the system of Pro/ENGINEER to accomplish the preceding manager, and establish finite element model, even we can build the model library in order to transfer the afterward designing conveniently. Then inputting the model to the professional software to calculate and analyse. We can conquer the disadvantage of the ability of proceeding manager, and also can improve the efficiency of the whole finite element analysis work, then accomplish a perfect result.This designing method, which not only provide numerical basis, but also lay the foundation of research and development of different tonnage truck crane. It makes the design achieved a goal quickly, efficiency, reliably and economically, and also achieve a better corporation benefit and societal benefit finally.
