Frame scaffolding with steel tubes has been used widely as it has particular advantages such as easily assemble and disassemble, high bearing capacity, economy, etc. However, the rationality of its semi-rigid connections has not yet been proved adequately. The reliability of joint connection affects the holistic properties of steel structures. Based on the experimental study, theoretic analysis and design methods of semi-rigid connection, this paper has studied the semi-rigid connection node of the frame scaffolding with steel tubes, and discussed its influence to the stability and bearing capacity of scaffolding.Experimental study and theoretical analysis are carried out in this dissertation to study the structural characteristics of frame scaffolding with steel tubes. In the experimental research, the full scale node was adopted, and in the theoretical analysis, the stability of semi-rigid steel frames is studied, and finite element analysis software ANSYS 10.0 was adopted to carry out numerical simulation. The main contents of this dissertation are as follows:1.Analyzing the stability of the semi-rigid steel scaffoldings through stability theoretic of steel frames, considering the structural characteristics of frame scaffolding with steel tubes, as well as introducing semi-rigid joints.2.Using M-θcurves that obtained from the experimental research to simulate semi-rigid connections features of the node through finite element analysis software ansys 10.0, and set up finite element model to analyze the influence of the node semi-rigid connection to the stability of the scaffoldings. The results obtained by theoretical analysis have been compared with the experimental results to verify mutually.3. Developing an assistant program of the frame scaffolding with steel tubes according to the results of experimental study, theoretical analysis as well as the calculation formulas of scaffoldings'stability presented in "Safety and technical code for frame scaffoldings with steel tubes in construction" JGJ128-2010. On the end, the paper illustrated the basic structure of the program and some source codes; one illustrative example was also given in the paper to demonstrate the application process of the program.
