In traditional steel frame analysis, the behavior of beam-to-column connections is treated as either pinned or rigid joints entity. While lots of constructions and theory experiments proved that the beam-to-column connections is between pinned and rigid, namely semi-rigid. Because in practical construction, to a certain extent, so-called pinned joints possess rigidity, and so called rigid joints possess flexibility. Though this idealistic hypothesis can simplify the design and analysis process largely , it engenders the large difference of theory and practice, the structure's insecurity or conservation and is not worth the money. This thesis is dedicated to study a new type joint-top and seat angle with double web angles semi-rigid connection ,which has good resistance to vibration, on the base of large quantity of in and abroad data. Experiment of the joint under static load has been done, also theory model was built, with the aid of the large-scale finite element analysis software ANSYS, 3-D nonlinear finite element precise numerical simulation experiment has been done, researching on its bearing ability, analyzing its deforming character distribution of stress density, progressing of plastic zone and relationship of moment and rotation etc., some useful conclusion which can be applied to practice are drawn, and make good preparation for the further finite element simulation to analyze the joint under seismic load,...
