There are some advantages using stone masonry arch dam, that is having high safety, obtaining raw materials locally, saving investment, construction simply, little temperature controlling measures, coming through flood period easily, demanding simple construction machine and having beautiful sculpt. So the local material dam has been widely promoted in the course of dam construction. Many stone masonry arch dams have been constructed in China, especially during 60s and 70s, which play remarkably role in the local project construction. But because of the limited scientific level, economic condition, material and equipment in the past, the shortcomings in geology survey, construction and design are existence. With the running time increasing, problems in some dams have arisen. Therefore, it is very urgent and necessary to do the research on risk elimination and reinforcement for the sick-dangerous dams.In this thesis, considering the project of Wulasitai reservoir stone masonry arch dam in XingJiang, finite element method is applied to compute and analyze the three-dimensional nonlinear finite element of Wulasitai reservoir stone masonry arch dam before the reinforcement. Based on it, the reinforcement measures are put forward. At last, the stone masonry arch dam after the reinforcement is computed and analyzed about the three-dimensional nonlinear finite element and reinforcement effect. The feasibility of the reinforcement scheme has been proved. The content of this thesis includes mainly the following aspects.(1) Based on the characteristics of hydraulic structure, the three-dimensional nonlinear finite element are studied.(2) Whit the help of finite element program—ANSYS, stone masonry arch dam three-dimensional nonlinear finite element method program is developed by APDL and functions on ANSYS to emulate and simulate the three-dimensional nonlinear finite element of Wulasitai reservoir stone masonry arch dam before the reinforcement under multi-case(3) The calculated result between the three-dimensional nonlinear finite element of Wulasitai reservoir stone masonry arch dam before the reinforcement and the design in the past is analyzed and compared(4) Reinforcement scheme of Wulasitai reservoir stone masonry arch dam are put forward, and the developed arch dam three-dimensional nonlinear finite element method program are used to analyze the stress-strain of Wulasitai reservoir stone masonry arch dam after the reinforcement. Analyzing the reinforcement effect and the reinforcement scheme has been proved reasonable and feasible.
