In the power industry, the high voltage cable carries voltage and wide distribution. As high voltage cable investment is very expensive, it requires power cables can be able to work at least 25 to 30 years. However, after the cable buried underground, it will be electrical, thermal and mechanical effects, these effects will reduce or even damage the cable insulation can easily cause fires. In case of fire, it not only to the power part of the adverse impact, and brought serious losses to the state. Because of fiber grating sensor itself is not charged, sensor signals can be transmitted through the optical fiber, anti-electromagnetic interference, easy to implement large-scale sensor network composed of distributed measurement and other characteristics, it is particularly suitable for high voltage cable temperature monitoring.First of all, analyze the characteristics of FBG sensors based on in-depth understand the fiber grating sensor development at home and abroad, grasp the development trends and advantages of the FBG sensors in terms of power cable temperature measurement. Through in-depth research of the optical fiber gratings status in domestic and international, concerned about the developments of FBG, deepened the understanding of optical fiber sensing technology, clearly the research direction of the subject.Secondly, described some of the basic characteristics of voltage cable, using the finite element conducted in-depth analysis temperature field and the environment of the high voltage cables. Temperature characteristics for the cable, design a fiber grating cable temperature measurement system, and completed the integration build of related optical structures, the drawing and processing of the matching circuit board, wavelength demodulation algorithm design and graphical interface displays for PC. Finally, through repeated experiments get a lot of valuable experimental data. From the data analysis to determine the grating parameters, then import the grating related parameters into the optical fiber grating temperature monitoring software. By monitoring software realize the real-time temperature monitoring of high voltage cables. Experimental results show that the accuracy of this fiber grating cable temperature monitoring system can up to 1℃, long-term stable operation, with some practical value.
