The vessel of laying pipe and cable in shallow sea is always been used in the work of laying cable and pipeline transportation of oil and gas offshore. At present, most of this kind of vessels that our country used is purchased from foreign countries. And most of them are taken the manual style to control the vessels? moving and positioning. This paper is focused on the study of central control system of the first total automation vessel of laying pipe and cable in shallow sea that built by our country self. The paper particularly introduces the structure and function of the system抯 hardware and software. In addition, the paper also expatiates on the system抯 control arithmetic and control strategy. Based on the forces of wind, wave and flow in water and the position deflection data of bow and stern provided by the Global Positioning System. The central control system can automatically control the values of drawing and putting of eight hawsers and make the vessel work along the ideal fairway. The style of the central control system is stratified distributed control system. By dint of the technique of computer communication and net, the control system can carry out the management, data processing and real-time control function. The central control system mostly including: the central PC controlling system, the GPS data processing system, the windlass PLC control system and all kinds of sensors, transducers, isolators and so on. The control system抯 software includes the communication module, the calculating module, the data processing module and the Human-Machine Interface (HMI). The modules of central control system developed in Visual Basic, Visual Basic for Application and the special SCADA software in separately.
