The rotor of Roots blower is the key component relate to the noise. The profile equations of these kinds of three-lobe circular arced rotor are derived in details in this article. The formula of the rotor curvature radius and obvious expressions of the ratio's (ra/a) extremes are deduced. The wind rates of Roots blower with these various kinds of three-lobe circular arc rotor are calculated and comparison between their performances is carried out. It is found that three-lobe rotor with external-internal circular arc and cycloid can produce the largest air volume. Comparing the air pulsation produced by cylinder rotor and helix rotor, and proof that the structure of helix rotor can reduce the noise of Roots blower. Basing on the theory of meshing, deducing the helical curved surface formula of the helix rotor. Using milling to process the helical rotor. Deriving the profile of the tool bit. Using the existing attachment to produce the helix rotor.With the help of 3D CAD software Solidworks, modeling each part of the Roots blower and using the virtual assembling function to assemble the whole Roots blower, conducting the check of interference that may happen in the design process. And at the end of the article, using the finite element add-in to verify the feasibility of helix rotor that is the key part in roots blower.
