| The paper describes how to develop Highway Geographical Information System (HGIS) and apply the latest technology to develop GIS software, which based on the current conditions of GIS technology all over the world. Then, author takes an advantage of OOA method to build a data modal for HGIS and a database structure for Henan Provincial Highway Geographical Information System. The dynamic displaying of pavement is also discussed in the paper. In general, author has done the following tasks:1. Based on the analysis to management processes of Henan Provincial Highway Administration Bureau, author discusses the basic function, which HGIS must carry out, and its system structure.2. The OOA technology is a new kind of method that is being used to plan Management Information System. Author uses the method tobuild a question space modal.3. The maintenance management system for pavement plays an important role in Highway Geographic Information System, in this paper author discusses how to build it in detail.4. How to change raster map to vector data is a hot direction in spatial data capturing field, author carries out a lot of hard work on, and supplies a new algorithm to accomplish this task.5. Based on the above principle, author developed Henan Provincial Highway Geographic Information System. |
