Demand of building and reconstructing city's feature is running up. Changsha as one of china's famous cities of historical culture, its brilliant old culture left many rare cultural heritages to us. Knowing and researching cultural characteristics of changsha traditional architecture and the approach of construction in nowadays will be helpful to shape the changsha city's feature.Using chansha as an object, discuss how to construct the traditional characteristics of city's culture area. Starting with culture area of changsha, this article analyzes the inherent traits of cultural area in changsha, including natural characteristics, humanistic characteristics, the main characteristic of folk house and social culture background of architecture in changsha area. Then it analyzes old characteristics of changsha's architectural culture, embracing physical forms: nature, space, street, building, art and spiritual forms.
