According to the fact that freeze-resisting measure is needed to be taken for the gates operating in winter and low head arch gates,electrothermic freeze-resisting device is designed in this thesis. Electronic units are applied to this device and poleless power regulating method is employed to control heating units,therefore the water temperature near the gate is prevented from being affected by the temperature change of surroundings and ice-free temperature is maintained all the time. Gates can be kept from being frozen by forming a warm water layer,so gates safe is realized.Based on the structure features of overflow,two kinds of scheme are considered for heating units. One is directly heating,namely put the units into water to heat water directly and another is indirectly,that is put heating units on the back of the gate,by which water can be heated through the heated gate. Two kinds of control way as unit control and concentrated control are adopted.Tryouts on site show the ice-preventive pressure effect. Practical applications also need further improvement and perfection.
