The Vitality Of The Public Environment Of The Waterfront City Center

Since some constructed waterfront public spaces in downtown lack livingness, the paper focuses on the way to enhance its livingness. The paper analyzes the relations among users, spaces and activities, and concludes two patterns. Based on these two patterns, the factors, which influence the livingness of waterfront public spaces in downtown, are discussed from two aspects (space plan and space business administration). And then the paper points out that the cooperation of the space plan and space business administration ensure the livingness of waterfront public space in downtown. At last the paper concluded the reasonable development pattern of waterfront public space in downtown.
